Established in 2000, The Meat Company was borne out of a vision by two of South Africa's most successful restaurateurs to provide a unique and exceptionally enjoyable dining experience. Bradley Michael and Costa Tomazos identified the need to establish a restaurant concept that catered for South African meat lovers in a sophisticated yet relaxed environment and hence the first restaurant opened in Monte Casino during November 2000.
In response to the overwhelming success of The Meat Company at Monte Casino, further restaurants were opened in South Africa and overseas. Each has a unique ambiance of its own and is exquisitely decorated. The Meat and Wine Company which opened in Sydney, Australia during October 2003 and The Meat Company, Dubai which opened in September 2004 have both been a phenomenal success.
